Gordon, Capps, Stanfield, Gadson, Cummings, Rivenbark Lead Winners at Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals Finals
Norwalk, Ohio — The Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals wrapped up its June 25-28, 2026, run at Summit Motorsports Park with a strong slate of final-round victories across the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and supporting categories. Hot, humid conditions with track temperatures near 122 degrees tested teams throughout eliminations, but several drivers delivered standout performances to claim Wally trophies.
In Top Fuel, Maddi Gordon earned her first career Wally and first final-round appearance in the class. Gordon drove the Ron Capps Motorsports entry to a 3.786-second pass at 333.16 mph to defeat Antron Brown (3.840 at 328.14 mph) by a margin of 0.0297 seconds. Brown held the starting-line advantage but could not hold off Gordon after the 330-foot mark. The win marked a double for Ron Capps Motorsports on the day.
Ron Capps continued the team’s strong weekend in Funny Car, defeating Jack Beckman in the final. Capps posted a 3.969 at 328.54 mph to Beckman’s 4.011 at 323.43 mph, winning by 0.0458 seconds. Capps carried the slight starting-line advantage and never trailed. The victory was Capps’ third Wally of the 2026 season and the 80th of his career.
In Pro Stock, Aaron Stanfield took the final-round win over Matt Hartford. Stanfield recorded a 6.626 at 208.75 mph while Hartford ran a quicker 6.597 at 207.98 mph; Stanfield won the close contest by 0.0064 seconds.
Richard Gadson captured the Pro Stock Motorcycle title, defeating Gaige Herrera in the final. Gadson’s winning pass was a 6.849 at 197.36 mph. Herrera fouled with a -.004 reaction time, handing the win to Gadson, who collected his second Wally of the season and sixth of his career.
Matthew Cummings won Top Alcohol Dragster, beating Jamie Noonan in the final with a 5.283 at 273.39 mph to Noonan’s 5.337 at 268.81 mph. Cummings won by 0.0556 seconds after holding a slight starting-line advantage and never trailing. The victory marked Cummings’ ninth NHRA national-event Wally and his first of the 2026 season.
In Top Alcohol Funny Car, Doug Gordon (father of Top Fuel winner Maddi Gordon) claimed the win over Sean Bellemeur. Gordon’s winning effort was a 5.510 at 266.06 mph. Bellemeur took the initial lead but smoked the tires and slowed to a 6.589 at 218.83 mph. Gordon earned his second Wally of the season and 28th of his career.
Kevin Rivenbark won Pro Mod, edging Billy Banaka in a tight final. Rivenbark’s 5.714 at 251.53 mph prevailed over Banaka’s 5.716 at 252.33 mph by just 0.0416 seconds. Rivenbark had the starting-line advantage and never trailed; Banaka tagged the wall on the top end after deploying parachutes. It was Rivenbark’s second career Wally and first of 2026.
In Top Sportsman, Alex Miller defeated Glenn Butcher in the final round to take the class victory.
Sadie Glenn won Top Dragster, defeating Kenny Carson in the final with a 9.470 at 87.70 mph. Glenn won by a 0.6484-second margin.
In the Summit JDRL Shootout, Brandon DuPont took the win over Samuel Wilson with a .039 reaction time and a 0.1261-second margin of victory.
The weekend’s results highlighted strong family and team storylines, particularly the Gordon duo’s success and Ron Capps Motorsports’ double win on Sunday.
