Race Results: Brody Rhodes Sweeps Legends Features During Mason's Birthday Bash at Southern National Motorsports Park

Lucama, NC – May 16, 2026 – Southern National Motorsports Park hosted a full night of exciting short-track action Friday evening for Mason's Birthday Bash, with four divisions taking to the track for twin features and main events. A strong field of entries turned out, highlighted by dominant performances and close competition across the board.

Legends (16 entries – Two 20-lap A Features) Brody Rhodes (car #9) stole the show in the Legends division, sweeping both A Features in impressive fashion. Starting from the pole in Feature 1, Rhodes led wire-to-wire to take the victory. In Feature 2, he charged from 8th on the grid to claim his second win of the night. Peyton Worm (2W) finished runner-up in both features, with a remarkable drive from 16th in the second event. Brady Price (32) rounded out the podium in Feature 2, while Marcus Wolfe (11) took third in the opener. The 16-car field provided plenty of side-by-side racing throughout both mains.

Chargers Presented by KONI (15 entries – Twin 30-lap features) The Chargers split the twin 30-lap features. Bradley McCaskill (7) took the victory in Twin 1 after starting on the front row, holding off Rusty Daniels (16) and Justin Mitchell (10J). Tyler Chapman (51) answered in Twin 2, winning from the pole and fending off strong challenges from Daniels and Aiden McConnaughey (71). Both races showcased the competitive depth of the 15-car field, with multiple lead changes and hard-fought battles in the mid-pack.

Any Cars (6 entries – Twin 15-lap features) Andrew Watson (08) made it a clean sweep in the Any Cars class, winning both 15-lap twin features. Mike Sliger (45) finished second in each race, providing consistent pressure, while Gabe Purcella (99) and James Barbour (75) rounded out the top finishers. Watson’s back-to-back victories demonstrated superior handling and strategy on the Southern National quarter-mile.

Southern National Vintage Series (3 entries – 30-lap A Feature) In the Vintage Series feature, Kevin Floars (1) cruised to the win from the pole position. Billy Ray Lucas (0) finished second, with Joe Seeger (61) completing the three-car field. The vintage machines put on a nostalgic display of classic racing lines around the historic track.
