Lucama, NC – April 18, 2026 – A packed night of short-track action unfolded at Southern National Motorsports Park on Saturday, April 18, as drivers from five divisions battled on the 0.4-mile asphalt oval. The evening featured twin races in two classes and single features in three others, with clear dominators emerging in the Charger and Legends divisions.
In the Chargers Presented by KONI (18 entries), Rusty Daniels (#16) put on a masterclass, sweeping both 30-lap twin races. Daniels, who also posted the fastest qualifying lap (16.172), took the checkered flag in Twin 1 ahead of Tyler Chapman (#51C) and Justin Mitchell (#10M). He repeated the feat in Twin 2, again besting Mitchell and Chapman. Multiple drivers encountered trouble, with several DNFs and DNS entries across the twins, underscoring the competitive intensity of the class.
The Legends division (17 entries) delivered identical drama, with Levi Canup (#7) also claiming both 20-lap twins. Canup, quickest in both qualifying (17.349) and practice, led Twin 1 over Aaron Crumpler (#00) and Landon Barefoot (#006). In Twin 2, he held off Michael Bivens (#97) and Barefoot once more. Canup’s sweep marked one of the night’s most impressive performances.
